An old architect mentor once reminded me that we architects are the conductors of the orchestra. We set the tempo and tell everyone else when they need to come in, if they need to play louder or softer, make sure that the whole orchestra starts and finishes on time, and in the process hopefully make great music.
Architecture is music for the eyes.
And what better way to be reminded of this than to be a part of an orchestra, such as the Kingwood Pops Orchestra. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to perform again with this fine orchestra this evening in the first of our fall concert series. A wonderful group of talented musicians from the greater Houston area, from all walks of life, but all sharing a passion for great music. This orchestra is led by the talented Dr. Robert Hunt.
And if architecture truly is frozen music, it’s only fitting to stay connected to such great music-making opportunities.
